Go for Goses

We’re not too far our from June 11, when we have the next iteration of our Style Night with the Beer Museum. Thanks to everyone who came out for the East vs. West Coast IPAs, now we’re moving on to a real summer treat: Goses. We’ll be comparing fruited and non-fruited varieties of this tart, salty beer, and discussing its history and intricacies. $20 for four 5 oz pours (and maybe a bonus or two!). Check here for more information.

Soccer. I’m told that’s kind of a thing, especially right now for some kind of event regarding a cup. But as most of the World Cup games will be happening in the morning (schedule can be found here), we’ll be sure to have on as many as we can, and running a soccer special: free coffee with the purchase of two TacoDeli tacos, and we’ll have free popcorn and happy hour during games, too. Leave the vuvuzelas at home.

And keep picking up 6 packs of Hi Sign all June. We’re selling their Shamus amber, Christie blonde, and Wooderson IPA for 7.99 all month.

Founders Double Trouble – An imperial IPA that was brewed to turn your world upside down. Hops have got you coming and going. Pungent aromatics up front paired with a malt balanced backbone and a smooth bitter finish. 9.4% ABV / Grand Rapids, MI / RateBeer 99 / Availability: Decent

Stone Enjoy By 7.4.18 – By skipping a step and letting this devastatingly fresh, golden-hued double IPA go un filtered, the beer takes on a hazy appearance and its peach and tropical fruit hop aroma are intensified. So though it may sound like it, this missed step was no misstep. 9.4% ABV / Escondido, CA / RateBeer 100 / Availability: Decent

Real Ale Passionfruit Wheat – Real Ale took a highly refreshing and thirst-quenching wheat ale, then add passion fruit puree to the fermenter to truly elevate the flavor profile. This ale reaches out with layers of tropical fruit aromas that are enhanced by the fruity ester profile of their house Belgian yeast. It drinks light, with a soft mouthfeel and crisp carbonation that won’t overwork your palate. 4.6% ABV / Blanco, TX / Availability: Good

Independence Native Texan – A beer made of, by, and for the people of the great state of Texas. Native Texan is a pilsner as German as the Hill Country, as bright as the Friday Night Lights, as clear as a West Texas night sky, as clean as a steel guitar, and smoother than a Texan drawl. Best served colder than Barton Springs. 5% ABV / Austin, TX / Availability: Good

Blue Owl Little Gose – Collaboration with Kemuri Tatsu-Ya, Little Smoky Gose is a salty sour wheat beer with limes smoked by the instantly legendary Austin restaurant. 3.8% ABV / Austin, TX / Availability: Decent
