Labor Day Deals, Harvey Help, and More

With Harvey hitting hard last week, we’ll be feeling the effects of this storm for some time. To that end, WhichCraft is having a food and supply drive to help those affected. Bring in any non-perishable food items or toiletries or bottled water to either location and we’ll make sure it gets in the hands of those who need it. And stay tuned for an upcoming event from us: we’ll have a silent auction and raffle for some pretty cool things, and all proceeds will go toward coastal relief. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

And with Labor Day upon us, we’d like to bring back one of our favorite sales: spend $50, save 10%; spend $100, save 15%; and spend $200, save 20%. This great deal runs today through Monday, and applies only to package beer at both locations, plus growlers/crowlers. Come in and stock up for the start of football season, the last BBQ hurrah, or just to take advantage of cheaper beer. We won’t judge.

And a final reminder about the celebration of beer, art, and music at Art of the Brew on Saturday, September 2. Come by our booth, say hi, and try your luck at the ring toss for prizes while you’re taking in all the fantastic sights, sounds, and of course, beer. Tickets and info can be found at their website.

New Beers This Week

(All beer available at both WhichCraft locations unless otherwise noted)

Back in Stock: Saint Arnold Art Car, Crazy Mountain Hookiebobb, Martin House Friday IPA, Real Ale Hans’ Pils, Infamous Bugsy, Southern Star Oktoberfest

Crazy Mountain CredenceThis pilsner is modeled after the classic bohemian pilsners of Europe. They use high-quality Pilsner malt to lend the beer a delicate flavor and aroma. 4.9% ABV / Edwards, CO / BeerAdvocate 83 / Availability: Good

Crazy Mountain Lawyers, Guns & Money – For this special brew, they use an assortment of crystal malts and throw a little Belgian Candi into the brew kettle to give a hearty maltiness. Dry hopping with American hops gives this English style a refreshing American twist. Be cautious with this beer, as overindulgence can result in the shit hitting the fan. 10% ABV / Edwards, CO / BeerAdvocate 85 / Availability: Good / SoLa Only

Crazy Mountain Livin’ – They utilize two types of American hops in such a way that the flavor of these hops are center stage, and the bitterness fades into the background. The hop-forward character of this pale ale shines through in the unique, tropical fruit flavor of two American hop varieties. 5.7% ABV / Edwards, CO / Availability: Good / SoLa Only

Strange Land Oktoberfest – Traditional Marzen-style with plenty of malt and lederhosen. Austin, TX / Availability: Good

Bell’s Oktoberfest – A coppery amber lager that showcases a full bodied, malty flavor that is balanced by a refreshing bitterness derived from fine noble hops. 5.5% ABV / Galesburg, MI / BeerAdvocate 81 / Availability: Good

Independence Stash (Cans) – Stash IPA is defined by the hops. Seven additions of four different varietals – Columbus, Galaxy, Nugget and Cascade – create a hop explosion that finishes clean. A dank, resinous, and enlightening hop trip. It’s got mad hops. 7% ABV / Austin, TX / RateBeer 85 / Availability: Good

Independence Oklahoma Suks – The way Independence shows its “appreciation” to their neighbors to the north is to name a beer after them. Oklahoma Suks rolls out just in time for the Red River Shootout. Remember, these cleverly disguised Austin Amber beers are a fan favorite and will sell quickly once they hit shelves. Don’t miss your chance to show your Texas pride and enjoy an ice cold Oklahoma Suks on game day. 4.8% ABV / Austin, TX / Availability: Decent

Twisted X Woah-Mango – IPA packed with plenty of mango. 5.8% ABV / Austin, TX / Availability: Good / SoLa Only

Twisted X Gulf Kolsch – A sweet, grassy, yet lightly crisp malt and delicate spicy hops makes this a terrific, year-round, Hill Country beer. 5.1% ABV / Dripping Springs, TX / Availability: Good

Goose Island Juicy Double – Crisp, West Coast-style double IPA with orange juice fermented through in secondary. 8.3% ABV / Chicago, IL / BeerAdvocate 86 / Availability: Good

Brazos Valley Trouble in Mind (Denali) – Double IPA with Denali hops. / Brenham, TX / Availability: Good

4th Tap Fashionably Late  – New England-style IPA. / Austin, TX / Availability: Decent

Tupps Cotton Mill Gold Golden pale ale brewed with a wide variety of grains including rye, wheat and oats. Brewed with a mix of five different hops. 6% ABV / McKinney, TX / BeerAdvocate 84 / Availability: Good / SoLa Only

Boon Oude Geuze VAT 109Aged in barrel Nr 109 – ex Cognac barrel (4th fill, previous fills were blended into geuze, because the cognac flavors were too noticeable). 8.25% ABV / Lembeek, Belgium / RateBeer 100 / Availability: Limited

Martin House Monty’s Pale Ale – This easy-drinking beer is brewed with Cascade and Amarillo hops and is dry-hopped to give it a lot of citrus flavor. We added some oats in the grain bill to round it out and give it malty finish, which balances the hops quite nicely. 5.2% ABV / Fort Worth, TX / Availability: Good

New Beers on Draft at WhichCraft Taproom

Full Draft List Available on our Website

Firestone Walker Helldorado An Imperial Blonde Ale or Blonde Barley Wine; Helldorado has the lightest color of any of the beers in their barrel program but carries a great deal of interesting barrel character: vanilla, light char, and amazing lavender-honey notes. Rich, boozy, honey liqueur character and loads of smooth, sweet, toasted malt to finish. The El Dorado hops dance in the background without playing a dominant role in the flavor profile. 13.2% ABV / Paso Robles, CA / RateBeer 99

Revolver Blood and Honey – Ale brewed with blood orange peels, honey and spices. 7% ABV / Granbury, TX / BeerAdvocate 85

Adelbert’s Tripel BThis complex, straw-colored ale has clove and pear aromas. A marriage of spicy and fruity flavors help perfectly balance its elegant malt profile. 9.3% ABV / Austin, TX BeerAdvocate 86

3 Nations Imperial Milk Stout – Big stout with a roast malt character and smooth finish. 8.3% ABV / Farmers Branch, TX

Lakewood Raspberry Temptress – Love isn’t just in the air. It’s inside this beer, and it tastes like chocolate and raspberries. That’s because they took their decadent Imperial Milk Stout and blended it with fresh, tart, Oregon raspberries. 9.1% ABV / Garland, TX / RateBeer 92

Austin Beerworks Tropical Finkle – Einhorn, their tasty Berliner Weisse, brewed with mango, passionfruit, and pineapple. 3% ABV / Austin, TX

Hi Sign Astronaut IIPA – A fruit-forward, low-IBU, citrusy, double India Pale Ale. 9.5% ABV / Austin, TX

Hops & Grain Pellets & Powder IPA – With Pellets & Powder IPA, H&G has been experimenting with varying the form of hops added to each tank. Each batch will be different and they’ll continue to trial new and exciting hop varieties in both pellet and powder form. Think of it as Greenhouse IPA on steroids. Or maybe Greenhouse IPA on hallucinogens, depending on how you understand analogies. 6% ABV / Austin, TX

Moonlight Meadery How Do You Like Them Apples? 6 month rye whiskey barrel-aged New England Cider (style) Cyser. Rich and sweet. 13.5% ABV / Londonberry, NH / RateBeer 93
