Off-Flavor Tasting On Point!

Mark your calendars for Monday, July 23. We’ll be hosting an Off-Flavor Sensory Experience with Laura Christie, Certified Cicerone and owner of Hopsimath, a beer education company, to learn about four different commonly found beer off flavors: Light struck, diacetyl, isovaleric acid and oxidation. A $20 ticket gets you samples of each and 60-90 minutes of knowledge from Laura as she explains the science of what causes each off flavor and how to prevent them. Click here for tickets.

And see that picture above? That’s right, tonight, 7/19, at Mueller from 5-8pm, we got Veronica with Lone Pint to tap their Zeno’s Pale Ale and fresh Yellow Rose. Then, at 7pm, we’ll start the checkers tournament. Get in before to sign up and crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women. This. Is. Checkers!

But if you find yourself south tonight, get to the bottle shop on Lamar for an event with Austin Beerworks. From 5-7pm, we’ll be sampling their Einhorn berliner weisse with several different syrups to beat this Austin heat.

And next Thursday, 7/26 at 7pm, we have an event just for the ladies: Girls Pint Out drops by the Mueller Tap Room. For $10, we’ll have a blind tasting of five 5oz pours. It’s a fantastic chance to talk with women in the industry or just with women who also love beer. No need to RSVP, just show up at 7pm for a 30-minute tasting session. But of course, hang around after, too.

And keep picking up 6 packs of Zilker Brewing as our July Brewery of the Month. We’re selling their Marco IPA, Parks & Rec, and Coffee Milk Stout for 7.99 all month.

New Beers on Draft at WhichCraft Taproom

Full Draft List Available on our Website

Lone Pint Yellow Rose – A SMaSH, Single Malt and Single Hop, IPA using a caboodle (technical term for a large amount of malt) of malt and a new hop released in 2012 called Mosaic. Whole cone Mosaic is used for bittering, flavoring, and aroma in the kettle; it is also massively dry hopped. The beer is named after a Texas Heroine. Tasting notes: chalk-white head with a very clean malt backbone. The hops impart strong grapefruit, pineapple, and blueberry flavor and aroma. A strong beer that is extremely quaffable. 6.8% ABV / Magnolia, TX / BeerAdvocate 98

Lone Pint Zeno’s Pale Ale – An American Pale Ale, using American two-row malted barley and a touch of light Crystal malt in combination with two pungent and resinous, whole-cone American hops. The hops are added to the boil using strategery to yield a pleasant, yet satisfying, hop punch. 5.9% ABV / Magnolia, TX

Argus Lagered Cider – Developed from the inspiration of classic, clean lagers. Green apple, a natural byproduct of lager fermentation, dominates the nose and finishes dry, bright and crisp. A perfect summer style. 6.9% ABV / Austin, TX

Zilker Cheeky Bugger – 100% English Maris Otter Pale malt, hopped with Challenger and Willamette, and fermented with a traditional English yeast strain. Perfectly balanced with a hint of bready character from the malt, and a refreshing crisp bite from the hops. 5% ABV / Austin, TX
