Tomorrow is the big day: you can finally pick up your Advent Calendars! Or for those who have been on the fence, you can get a close look at the heavy, fully stocked beauties. Of course you can learn about them here, but you already know the drill: $100 for 24 mystery beers, to be opened each day in December leading up to Christmas. They can be pre-ordered at either location, either in person or over the phone. We’re only making 150 of them this year, including pre-orders, so you’re really rolling the dice if you haven’t ordered one yet and were going to pick one up in person! BUY ONE NOW!
And another week, another reminder about letting us know how much you love us via the Austin Beer Guide Awards. Of course, there are plenty of other categories to celebrate everything fantastic in our town’s world of beer. Check out this link and vote for your favorite brewery, beer, and *ahem* bottle shop and beer bar.
Speaking of awesome bottle shops doing awesome things for its awesome customers, today at Lamar we’re welcoming in Community. Along with sampling their new Jamaican Rum barrel-aged Legion, we’re also sampling their Mosaic IPA and Public Ale. But wait, there’s more! For sale as individuals or as very limited bundled 3 packs, we’ll be selling the last three iterations of Legion. That’s three years of Legion: Jamaican Rum (2017), Macallan Scotch (2016), and Woodford Reserve (2015), all ready to be shotgunned. Or sipped and savored. You guys are no fun…
Finally, next week is Thanksgiving. Both locations will be closed while we spend the day with our family and listening to Uncle Carl tell us everything that’s wrong with this country. Then, on Saturday 11/25 at Lamar, after we recover from our post-turkey coma, we’ll be breaking open the cellar at noon and selling some of our special bottles in celebration of Small Business Saturday. Check your inbox on Wednesday for an early newsletter with more of the details.

Oskar Blues BA Ten Fidy – Aged through four seasons and from a blend of the top Bourbons around, this Ten Fidy has morphed into a monster of cranked-up flavor. Espresso, burnt sugar, rich chocolate, and caramel notes are now driving alongside the vanilla, oak, and bourbon from the barrel and been smoothed out during maturation. Even at 12.9% (75 IBUs), it is cool and drinkable, letting each sip add more and more complexity. 12.9% ABV / Longmont, CO / RateBeer 100 / Availability: Limited
Brooklyn Black Ops – Aged in Woodford Reserve barrels. Brooklyn Black Ops does not exist. However, if it did exist, it would be a robust stout concocted by the Brooklyn brewing team under cover of secrecy and hidden from everyone else at the brewery. Supposedly, “Black Ops” was aged for four months in bourbon barrels, bottled flat, and re-fermented with Champagne yeast, creating big chocolate and coffee flavors with a rich underpinning of vanilla-like oak notes. 10.5% ABV / Brooklyn, NY / RateBeer 99 / Availability: Decent / SoLa Only
Brooklyn Winter Lager – Though dark in color with a sturdy presence, this Schwarzbier-inspired lager layers notes of chocolate, roasted barley, and dark bread into a 5.6% ABV frame that finishes surprisingly light and pleasantly dry. 5.6% ABV / Brooklyn, NY / Availability: Good / SoLa Only
Sierra Nevada Celebration – This beer represents a time-honored tradition of brewing a special beer for the holiday season. There are generous portions of barley malts and fine whole hops of several varieties, creating a brew with a full, rich, and hearty character. 6.8% ABV / Chico, CA / RateBeer 97 / Availability: Good

New Beers on Draft at WhichCraft Taproom
Full Draft List Available on our Website
Live Oak Primus – A dark, rich, German-style Weizen beer (beer made with wheat malt) fermented with a very particular strain of brewers’ yeast that gives this beer its unique spicy and fruity character. The unfiltered beer has the characteristic clove and banana flavors familiar to Hefeweizen drinkers but with a darker and richer roasty malt character that is typical of some German-style Bock beers. 8% ABV / Austin, TX / RateBeer 95
Firestone Walker Parabola – This beer features bold bourbon and tobacco aromas and a rich dark chocolate, charred oak flavor. Parabola is best enjoyed in moderation and is a perfect beer to pair with those chocolate dessert favs. An extension of Quercus Alba —the Firestone Walker barrel-aged program. Russian Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels. 14% ABV / Paso Robles, CA / RateBeer 100
Firestone Walker Stickee Monkee – A Belgian Quad by recipe, but aging it in spirits barrels garners its own category: Central Coast Quad. A beer formulated to sit on the sweeter and malty side to utilize it for blending. Turbinado brown sugar from Mexico and Belgian candi sugar add wonderful molasses flavors. It has a full body and lush texture with barrel expression all over this beer: toasted oak, coconut, leather, and cigar tobacco. 15% ABV / Paso Robles, CA / RateBeer 100
Saint Arnold’s Pumpkinator – This beer is black with some ruby highlights. The nose is full of pumpkin pie spices and some alcohol. There are notes of nutmeg, caraway and vanilla. The taste starts with chocolate malt with a hint of spice and rolls into a warm spicy alcohol taste which has the effect of creating the balance that usually comes from the hop bitter. There is some hop bitter on the finish, but not much. Overall, this beer finishes relatively dry for such a big beer. As it warms, the spices move forward in the taste and the chocolate moves to the finish. The pumpkin provides a pleasant undertone and a nice mouthfeel. 10% ABV / Houston, TX / RateBeer 97
Pinthouse Pizza Wet Hop Nomura – This creature from the deep is what everyone has been searching for, with its big tropical citrus character and notes of dank orange, lychee, and lemon. The big characteristics of this Double IPA are layered over floral notes to make this beer balanced and juicy. 10% ABV / Austin, TX
Bruery Bouffon – Collaboration with Jester King. A sour wit ale with bitter orange peel and coriander, fermented and aged with their mixed house culture and Bavarian wit yeast in the designated foeder for four months. Using the Jester King house culture for bottle conditioning, Bouffon features some of the classic notes you’d look for in a wit, including banana, pear, vanilla, bubblegum, white pepper, lemon and a signature yeast profile. It also shines with the wild character from its cultures and collaborators at Jester King and Bruery Terreux. 5.3% ABV / Placentia, CA
Community Mosaic – The deep golden/light amber color of this IPA comes from the use of a blend of English Maris Otter and American pale base malts. Sparing use of English crystal malt lends some caramel sweetness to help balance the hefty bitterness. Heady aromas of blueberry, pine, citrus and tropical fruit are the result of blending Mosaic hops with several other delicious American hop varieties. For being a large, hoppy beer it is quite drinkable, in part due to the balancing act of alcohol, malt complexity, and enormous American hop character. 8.6% ABV / Dallas, TX / RateBeer 96
