Rhythm & Beers

Saturday is National Record Store Day, and we at WhichCraft are big fans of spinning vinyl, so using Dogfish Head’s Beer to Drink Music To as our muse, we’ve decided to make a day of it, also. Come visit both locations as we jam records all day – including ones you bring – and sample and tap various Dogfish Head beers.

First, at South Lamar, we’ll have a tasting of several Dogfish Head beers, including both their fresh and cellared 120 Minute IPA. They even donated a custom record player for the occasion! Then at Mueller, we’ll tap a keg of 120 Minute and sell individual bottles, all while spinning your tunes. Yes, read that again, your eyes didn’t deceive you. We’re playing good tunes and drinking great beer all day at WhichCraft, and we want you to be a part of it. After you pick up that new Kendrick on vinyl or an old Tom Waits import, come by either location to keep the music going.

6-8pm – We pull a few beers off the shelves as we sample Save the World’s Princeps Pacis, Real Ale Hans’ Pils, New Belgium Clutch, and Texas Keeper No 1. A great way to close out the night.

Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA – Too extreme to be called beer? 120 Minute IPA is brewed to a colossal 45 degrees plato, boiled for a full two hours while being continuously hopped with high-alpha American hops, then dry-hopped daily in the fermenter for a month and aged for another month on whole-leaf hops! 18% ABV / Milton, DE / RateBeer 99 / Availability: Extremely Limited

Alaskan Summer Ale – This balances a softly malted palate with the clean freshness of Hallertauer hops. In the tradition of the style, neither overpowers the other. Both hops and malt come together to refresh and renew the palate. The straw-gold color and easy drinkability are an enjoyable way to celebrate summer. 5.3% ABV / Juneau, AK / BeerAdvocate 82 / Availability: Good

Alaskan Big Mountain Pale Ale – Light copper color, dry hopped with Simcoe, Mosaic, and Calypso hops. 5.7% ABV / Juneau, AK / RateBeer 93 / Availability: Good

Great Divide Roadie Radler – Unlike traditional radlers, which add finished soda to the beer, Great Divide’s take on the style uses an obscene amount of grapefruit puree and omits the soda. This easy-drinking ale pours a hazy sunrise gold and is bursting with citrus aroma. 4% ABV / Denver, CO / Availability: Good / SoLa Only

Bishop Sour Cherry Cider – Pucker up for a shockingly brilliant blend of apples and sour cherries. Prepare your buds for a direct current of filtered, non-carbonated acidity and tartness. 6.5% ABV / Dallas, TX / Availability: Good / SoLa Only

Deschutes Swivle Head Red – A great choice for malt and hop lovers alike! Tettnang, Willamette, and Northern Brewer hops bring earthy and herbal aromas, while Australian Summer hops complement with stone fruit and melon. Carared and Melanodin malts lend a nice full maltiness, with dark caramel and toffee flavors. 6.4% ABV / Bend, OR / Availability: Good

Avery Hog Heaven – This dangerously drinkable garnet beauty is a hop lover’s delight. The intense dry-hop nose and the alcohol content are perfectly balanced for a caramel malt backbone. This is a serious beer for serious beer aficionados. Oink! 9.2% ABV / Boulder, CO / RateBeer 98 / Availability: Decent

Oasis Technicolor Motorhome Bangkok Kumquat – Sour ale, dry hopped with kumquats added. 4.5% ABV / Austin, TX / Availability: Good / Mueller Only

Deep Ellum Numb Comfort – Malt flavors, hop bitterness and aroma, yeasty esters…everything has been turned up to ’11’. Numb Comfort is the continuation of the American interpretation of the barley wine. Then they fill the mash tin to the top with four different malts and dose it with enough of our favorite resinous, piney and fruity hops to balance. English Ale yeast takes it from there, and then a portion of this flavorful ale is aged in oak whiskey barrels to drive the complexity past the horizon. 11.5% ABV / Dallas, TX / RateBeer 97 / Availability: Decent

New Beers on Draft at WhichCraft Tap Room (Mueller)

Full Draft List Available on our Website

Petrus 50/50 Flanders Red – Petrus 50/50 is a blend of 50% Aged Pale and 50% Aged Red. Aged Pale is 100% “Mother Beer” aged in Oak Foeders. The gold standard for sour beers in the USA. Aged Red is 85% Dubbel Bruin base with 15% Petrus Aged Pale added to give it a sour essence. Fresh cherries are added to complete the sweet and sour balance. 7.9% ABV / RateBeer 89 / Harelbeke, Belgium

Blue Owl Little Gose – Refreshing sour wheat brewed with sea salt and coriander.  This version includes tangerine and basil in the fermenter to add a new dimension! 3.8% ABV / Austin, TX

Founders PC Pils – Pleasantly crisp, perfectly clean, and profoundly crushable, PC Pils uses our favorite American hops making this Founder’s take on the classic Pilsner. 5.5% ABV / Grand Rapids, MI

Bavik Super Pils – Bavik Super Pils obtains its unique taste and aroma through its exceptional brewing process. Their pils has not been diluted, they only use aroma hops, guarantee a long and cold maturation process, and pasteurization is out of the question. Those four elements result into this unique pils. Never compromise on taste! 5.2% ABV / Harelbeke, Belgium

Community Oaked Mosaic – Community has added oak spirals – carefully-milled helixes of American oak – to their aging tanks, infusing their beloved Mosaic IPA with delicious notes of oak, honey, vanilla, and coconut while preserving the beautiful hop profile. 8.6% ABV / Dallas, TX

Worth, TX / Availability: Very Limited

Martin House Friday IPA – This beer is everything you ever hoped for in an IPA. It’s dank, hoppy, and juicy. Friday is brewed with a hefty amount of Mosaic, Chinook, Amarillo, and Simcoe hops. Avery Uncle Jacob’s Stout – In the quest to create a collection of barrel-aged beers to be reproduced annually, Avery Brewing Company is releasing Uncle Jacob’s Stout, the second member of its Annual Barrel Series. While the Avery Barrel-Aged Series features one-time-only batches, such as the recent Muscat d’Amour and Récolte Sauvage, the Annual Barrel Series features a selection of cellarable barrel-aged beers that fans can return to and get to know every year. 17.4% ABV / Boulder, CO / RateBeer 100 / Availability: Limited / Mueller Only

Founder’s Sumatra Mountain Brown – This bold, imperial brown ale gets its body from a team of malts including caramel malt for sweetness, flaked barley for dense foam, a bit of chocolate malt for its deep color and Aromatic and Munich malts to add even more depth. The addition of rich Sumatra coffee takes this perfectly-balanced imperial brown ale to a decadent level. 9% ABV / Grand Rapids, MI / RateBeer 99 / Availability: Limited / SoLa Only

Deschutes Hop Slice – A trio of hops (Galaxy, Azacca, and Amarillo) come together in this crisp session IPA. Brewed with Meyer lemon, Hop Slice balances floral hop notes and a subtle citrus kick. 4.5% ABV / Bend, OR / BeerAdvocate 85 / Availability: Good / SoLa Only

New Beers on Draft at WhichCraft Tap Room (Mueller)

Full Draft List Available on our Website

Community Mosaic IPA – This is not your average IPA. From the incredible nose, to the amazing finish, this IPA is one that both session drinkers and beer nerds alike will love, so get on board the hopwagon with this big American-style IPA. However, it is not designed to blow your head off with overpowering hop bitterness. Instead, Mosaic IPA is an extremely well-balanced brew that showcases its unique hop aroma and flavor, with a noticeable malt backbone to help soften the high level of hop bitterness and flavor, while keeping the body fairly light. The word “Mosaic” is also representative of the diverse range of individuals that make up their community. It’s perfect in every way! 8.6% ABV / Dallas, TX / RateBeer 96

St. Arnold Pub Crawl – Brewed with Two Row Pale and Maris Otter English pale malt; Centennial hops, with Amarillo and Galaxy hops at the finish; London III yeast strain. 4.7% ABV / Houston, TX

Deep Ellum Dallas Blonde – This shimmering, golden ale combines citrusy and floral American hops with Pale, Vienna, and Wheat malts. It’s a beautifully-balanced, sessionable brew. Guaranteed to deliver more fun—go blonde. 5.2% ABV / Dallas, TX / BeerAdvocate 81

New Braunfels Blondine – Blondine is an 85% white wheat hefeweizen brewed with a modified decoction mash to enhance the malt flavors of the malt. A light blend of Perle and Cascade hops play well on your palate with prominent lactic sour notes. This bier was brewed in the style of a German farmhouse hefeweizen. It was fermented initially with German hefeweizen yeast and bottled with their house wild yeast and souring bacteria culture. 4.9% ABV / New Braunfels, TX

Idle Vine Trackdown Porter – Don’t let the color of Trackdown fool you, it’s not that filling, but still packed full of flavor. Chocolate malts lead the way with hints of caramel, honey, and coffee shining through in layers. Smoother and less hoppy than an American Porter, yet not quite as sweet as an English Porter, this combination makes Trackdown a beer that can be enjoyed all year long. 5.4% ABV / Pflugerville, TX

Deep Ellum Barrel Crusher – This hop-forward American strong ale returns to the extremes of pre-prohibition. Rising from Whistle Pig barrels with resinous hops, this spirit’s cask ale is reminiscent of apricots dipped in maple bourbon. Full of soul, the rye adds a musical spice note that plays well with friends. Enjoy as is, or cellar up to a year for more robust malt richness. 13% ABV / Dallas, TX
