We’re ridiculously excited to be the retail launch partner of The Bruery out of Orange County, California. Pretty much all of their beers are incredible. Their founder Patrick Rue is one of eleven Master Cicerones in the entire world. They are launching in Texas with six releases, and we’ll taste them all during our tasting on Monday. Bottles will be released when the tasting starts at 5pm on Monday 4/4.

We were nominated for a couple of Austin Independence Business Alliance awards – for Austin Customer Experience and Community Champion. Vote for us and your other favorite local businesses by following this link!

WhichCraft has been partnering with the St. Edward’s chapter of the Rosedale GO Project for the last several months. We are proud to have this group of capable young adults as active volunteers at our business. Participants include students Nadine, Tobin, Gerry, Kiki, Bruce and Alex. Adult mentors are Penny Shepard, Angela Hernandez and Zachary Savoie.

The Rosedale GO Project is a program for special needs students to prepare them for life after high school. Class consists of less academic and more vocational job training. Students learn life skills such as using public transportation, money management, job internship, job interviews, paying bills, and independent living. All this so that they may have a more fulfilling life after graduation.

The Rosedale Ride is a bike race intended to raise money for this important cause. The event will be held on April 2nd and will begin in North-Central Austin. Details on the event and how to donate can be found here. Additionally, cash donations will be accepted at WhichCraft. Stop in this weekend to grab some good beer and donate money to a good cause.

New Beers This Week

Back in stock: Deep Ellum Neato Bandito, Independence Austin Amber (now in cans!), Alpine Duet 6 pack, Karbach Staycation.

Prairie Pirate Bomb* – This is probably the most highly sought of the Bomb variants, and for good reason. This huge imperial stout with added cocoa, coffee, vanilla and ancho chile peppers then spends time in rum casks for added coconut and vanilla flavors. Arriving Friday, probably around lunch time. Limit 1 per person. 13% ABV/Tulsa, OK/Ratebeer 100/Availability: decent amount but will go fast, limit 1 per person

Knee Deep Belgo Hoptologist – Belgo Hoptologist is brewed with Citra, Columbus and Cascade hops which give this American Belgo Style IPA enormous hop aromas of American pine & grapefruit and eccentric fruit and phenols flavors from the Belgian yeast. 9% ABV/Auburn, CA/Ratebeer 97/Availability: plenty

Dogfish Head Squall IPA – An unfiltered, 100% bottle-conditioned, super-pungent imperial I.P.A. clocking in at 9% ABV and dry-hopped with Palisade, Amarillo, Simcoe, Cascade, CTZ, and Willamette hops. 9% ABV/Milton, DE/Ratebeer 99/Availability: plenty

Victory XX Anniversary Imperial Pilsner –This bold pilsner, complete with fragrant noble German hops, delivers rich earthiness and light citrus flavors, creating a deliciously drinkable beer. Herbal and floral aromas of tea and hay meld with subtly spicy, grainy flavors in this golden straw colored Imperial Pilsner. 8% ABV/Downington, PA/Beer Advocate 87/Availability: plenty

Live Oak Pilz – Styled after the Bohemian classic, Pilz is a golden lager with a moderate hop bitterness and soft malt flavor. An intensive decoction mash is employed that contributes to the beer’s full body and rich color. Cold fermentation and lengthy secondary conditioning produce a brilliant beer that highlights the flavor of the spicy Saaz hops. 4.7% ABV/Austin, TX/Beer Advocate 89/Availability: plenty

Texian FM 359* – FM 359 is a brett saison brewed with a mixture of domesticated saccharomyces yeast strains as well as some “wild” brettanomyces yeast strains as well as lactobacillus bacteria. 8.4% ABV/Richmond, TX/No ratings yet/Availability: decent/*Arriving Friday

The Bruery Gypsy Tart* – Gypsy Tart is a Flanders-style brown ale with a California touch. A beer that can trace it’s origins to Great Britain, but more famously perfected in western Belgium, has been updated through our own modern techniques, delivering the sweet body and mildly tart finish that has won over numerous generations of beer drinkers in Europe. 8.4% ABV/Anaheim, CA/Ratebeer 90/Availability: plenty, no limit/*Will be released Monday 4/4 at 5pm

The Bruery Jardinier* – Jardinier, which is French for “gardener,” was inspired by the fresh, sessionable beers so often found on the Belgian dinner table. Bright and flavorful with an assertive hop character, Jardinier is a perfect beer for any occasion, casual or ornate. 4.5% ABV/ Anaheim, CA/Beer Advocate 86/Availability: plenty, no limit/*Will be released Monday 4/4 at 5pm

The Bruery Mischief* – Mischief is a hoppy Belgian-style golden strong ale. Dry-hopped with American hops to add a layer of complexity and mystery to its fruity, dry Belgian-style character. Citrus and resin diabolically combine with ripe melon, pear and slight peppery spice in a precariously effervescent mixture. 8.5% ABV/ Anaheim, CA/Ratebeer 97/Availability: plenty, no limit/*Will be released Monday 4/4 at 5pm

The Bruery Terreux Saison Rue* – Saison Rue is an unfiltered, bottle conditioned, Belgian/French-style farmhouse ale. This is a beer of subtlety and complexity, with malted rye, spicy, fruity yeast notes, biscuit-like malt backbone and a slight citrus hop character. With age, this beer will dry out and will become more complex with rustic notes of leather and earth from the contribution of a wild yeast strain. 8.5% ABV/Anaheim, CA/Ratebeer 97/Availability: plenty, no limit/*Will be released Monday 4/4 at 5pm

The Bruery White Oak* – White Oak is a hardy, blended wheatwine-style ale, grafting elements reminiscent of caramel, vanilla, coconut and warm oak with the creamy complexity of wheat. Crisp effervescence spirals around sweet bourbon barrel-aged layers, expanding into a refreshingly robust ale. 12.5% ABV/Anaheim, CA/Ratebeer 97/Availability: plenty, no limit/*Will be released Monday 4/4 at 5pm

The Bruery So Happens It’s Tuesday* – The Bruery is excellent at hiding very high ABV in layers of malt complexity and this one is no exception. At 14% ABV this imperial stout drinks surprisingly easy. Tons of roasted malt gives flavors of caramel, vanilla, chocolate and coffee. 14% ABV/Anaheim, CA/Ratebeer 98/Availability: limited, limit 1 per person/*Will be released Monday 4/4 at 5pm
