Three Brand New Breweries in Texas! Also Hops & Grain A Pale Mosaic Releases Monday.

We’re happy to announce three breweries brand new to Texas: Evil Twin Brewing (mostly) out of New York, Stillwater Artisanal from Maryland and Bayou Teche from Louisiana. Both Evil Twin and Stillwater make some very highly rated beers that they contract brew out of Stratford, CT. We are selling mix packs of each of these new breweries so you can taste one of each of their new beers all in one simple pack. Plus you save a buck or two!

We’re very excited to launch our very first Flight Kit. We curated a selection of 12 different fall beers — an even mix of Oktoberfest and Pumpkin beers. It’s a great way to explore the styles without having to spend a bunch of time choosing them all yourself. Each flight kit comes with a code that allows you to visit the Case for Beer website and read about each of the beers we selected. It links to their Beer Advocate profiles as well as a little write up of each beer and why we chose it. The kits are $40 while supplies last and would make a great gift.

This weekend is the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. The awards portion of the event is taking place on Saturday; follow our Twitter feed Saturday as any Texas winners are announced. For Saturday evening’s tasting we’ll select a random sampling of these winners and pour them for free.

Hops & Grain A Pale Mosaic* – The boys from East Austin are back again with the much anticipated year-round IPA featuring the cool kid hops Mosaic. It’s an insanely citrusy IPA that is going to become your new “always gotta have it in my fridge” IPA. NOTE: We won’t be getting our shipment until Monday morning though, which is the official release day.

Clown Shoes Coffee Pecan Pie Porter – Each year Clown Shoes tweaks their Pecan Pie Porter recipe, and this year’s seasonal release is a coffee version using locally roasted coffee. Smooth porter flavors with sweet roast and rich nutty notes. 8% ABV/Ipswich, MA/No ratings yet/Availability: plenty

Austin Beerworks Heavy Machinery Wet Hop IPA – One of the Heavy Machinery Series’ most anticipated releases is the Wet Hop IPA. ABW flew in a bunch of freshly picked hops from the Northwest to make sweet, sweet hop nectar. Comes in 4 packs 16 oz cans. 7% ABV/Austin, TX/No ratings yet/Availability: plenty but will go fast

Stillwater Stereo – Stillwater isn’t the type of brewery to release many IPAs, but this one uses a combination of pilsner malt with 6 hops sourced from around the globe for a citrusy & piney but crisp finish. 7% ABV/Baltimore, MD/Ratebeer 95/Availability: plenty

Stillwater Vacuum Readymade – A complex blend of various smoked, caramel and subdued roasted malts lay the base for a combination of piney, dank and (dark) fruity hops. In other words, a slightly smoky black IPA. 8% ABV/Baltimore, MD/Ratebeer 93/Availability: plenty

Stillwater Surround – This massive oak smoked imperial wheat stout overtakes your senses with flavor & aromas of dark chocolate, molasses, roast, smoke, earth & wood. 10% ABV/Baltimore, MD/Ratebeer 97/Availability: plenty

Evil Twin Falco – The only release from Evil Twin so far in 4 packs 16-oz cans, this IPA is a perfect blend of citrusy hops and light malt character. Very drinkable. 7% ABV/Brooklyn, NY/Ratebeer 94/Availability: plenty

Evil Twin Soft DK – An imperial stout with hints of molasses, banana and vanilla. Surprisingly very drinkable at 10.4% ABV/Brooklyn, NY/Ratebeer 99/Availability: plenty

Evil Twin Ryan and the Beaster Bunny A fluffy and precious saison brewed on the beautiful island of Fanø on the west coast of Denmark. 7% ABV/Brooklyn, NY/Ratebeer 94/Availability: plenty

Evil Twin Yin – One half of a huge ABV black and tan, the Yin is an imperial stout that can of course be drank on its own. 10% ABV/Brooklyn, NY/Ratebeer 99/Availability: plenty

Evil Twin Yang – The other half of this insane black and tan… both the stout and the IPA are each 10% ABV. Not for the faint of heart! 10% ABV/Brooklyn, NY/Ratebeer 97/Availability: plenty

Evil Twin I Love You With My Stout – Another 99 rated huge imperial stout. Roasty, rich & decadent. 12% ABV/Brooklyn, NY/Ratebeer 99/Availability: plenty

Ranger Creek Small Batch #11 Apricot Sour* – The 2nd sour to come from Ranger Creek’s Small Batch series, we here at the shop got a sneak preview of this apricot sour and really enjoyed it. It has a good amount of tartness to balance out the apricot flavor. The base beer was a Belgian blonde that then spent a year in barrels with souring bacteria before the fresh apricots were added. 8.4% ABV/San Antonio, TX/No ratings yet/Availability: plenty/*Arriving Friday

South Austin Evel Ale – That’s right, a beer from South Austin Brewing using the official Evel Knievel logo & trademark. It’s an American blonde ale, slightly sweet with a subtle hop bite. 6 pack cans. 4.7% ABV /Austin, TX/No ratings yet/Availability: decent
