Behold the Conquest of Dankus Khan

Let’s kick this weekend off right. Tonight, we’re having a Pint Night with Lake Austin Ales with Batch #2 of their Juicy IPA on tap. We’ll also be selling 4pks of both the Single and Double IPA for 13.99 during the event. Then tomorrow, 11/2, drop by to try the Dankus Khan IPA from Hops & Grain from 5-8, it’s the only place outside of the brewery to try it. So try it!

Whoa, is it November already, too? We’re sorry to see 4th Tap go as our Brewery of the Month, but we’re welcoming in Live Oak as our new BotM. Holy cow, guys: all 6pks. ALL. SIX. PACKS. $7.99. All month long. You’re welcome.

And it’s the start of a new month, which means a new Style Night. Forget the wine and try pairing complex, delicious beers with your Thanksgiving dinner. Join WhichCraft and The Beer Museum Monday, November 12 at 7pm, as we’ll be tasting beers that go great with pre-dinner nibbles, the main attraction (whether or Turkey or Tofurkey) and, of course, dessert. This event will be hosted at WhichCraft Tap Room. The Beer Museum will be setting up the traveling roadshow version of the museum’s exhibits and we will dive deep into the history of these beers, their origins, the brewing process and why they go great with your upcoming Thanksgiving meal. Tickets are $20 and can be bought here.

Finally, don’t forget to order this year’s Advent calendar details. Count down to Christmas with 24 different beers, each to be opened every day in December leading up to the 25th. Purchases can be made in person at or by calling us at (512) 655-2899. Here’s the skinny (deep breath…):

– We’ll be offering sealed boxes, each including 24 different 12oz. beers (because exactly 24 beers fit in a case…coincidence?!). Boxes will be pre-sold for $100+tax, and pickups will begin Friday, November 16. We ask that you pay in full when you reserve it.

– We’ll only be selling a total of 80 of these holiday treats, so make sure to order yours now!

– Here’s the most supremely awesome part:

– Two GOLDEN BOXES will be created, which will look identical to all of the others. In each Golden Box, the 24 beers will equal TWICE the retail value of the normal boxes. That’s right, your math isn’t fooling you: your $100 box will contain $200 worth of beer.

– These Golden Boxes will be indistinguishable from their brethren, and even WhichCraft staff won’t know which will be the Golden Boxes. When you arrive to pick up your box, you get to choose at random from the boxes still available.

– There will be one Golden Box created for every 40 Advent Calendars sold.

NOTE: Shipping beers into, out of, or within Texas is prohibited by state law. So all boxes must be picked up in person (though sending a proxy is acceptable).

New Beers This Week

Back in Stock: Left Hand Milk Stout, Oskar Blue Death by Coconut, Odell Jolly Russian, 5 Stones Manmosa, Hi Sign Violet

Anchor Steam – Anchor Steam owes its deep amber color, thick, creamy head, and rich, distinctive flavor to a historic brewing process like none other. It is a process that combines deep respect for craft brewing tradition with many decades of evolution to arrive at a unique approach: a blend of pale and caramel malts, fermentation with lager yeast at warmer ale temperatures in shallow open-air fermenters, and gentle carbonation in our cellars through an all-natural process called kräusening. 4.9% ABV / San Francisco, CA / Availability: Good

Left Hand Chai Milk Stout – Creamy, chocolate, tea, vanilla cream, and brown sugar flavors. 6% ABV / Longmont, CO / Availability: Good

Texas Keeper Honey Thief – Dry Cyser (Honey Cider) chick full of Two Hives honey. 8.5% ABV / Austin, TX / Availability: Decent

5 Stones Snipe Hunter – Stout with graham crackers, cocoa nibs, and marshmallows. 6.2% ABV / New Braunfels, TX / Availability: Decent

Boulevard Bou Lou – Drawing inspiration from the ingredients and flavors that Tech melded in his original cocktail invention, Bou Lou starts with a wheat beer base that’s enhanced by additions of juicy pineapple and tropical coconut. At 5.5% ABV and bursting with fruit flavor, these 16oz cans are ready to be enjoyed at a show, a party, or wherever you need a refreshing beer that reps KC to the fullest. 5.5% ABV / Kansas City, MO / Availability: Decent (Arriving Friday)

Lakewood Sin Mint – A not-so-subtle homage to a sweet something that’s hiding in our freezers. Harmonious flavors of fresh mint, vanilla, and a touch of graham cracker enhance the already rich chocolate profile of the beer. It’s delightfully sinful, pleasurably minty, and tastes kind of like a really good cookie. 9.1% ABV / Garland, TX / RateBeer 97  / Availability: Limited (Arriving Friday)

8th Wonder Rocket Fuel – Vietnamese coffee porter. Infused with cold brew coffee and milk sugar. A pleasantly robust dark roast complemented by subtle, creamy sweetness. Prepare for delicious liftoff. 4.6% ABV / Houston, TX / RateBeer 93 / Availability: Good (Arriving Friday)

8th Wonder Astro Turf –  Dry hopped cream ale. 5.2% ABV / (Arriving Friday)

Bell’s Expedition Stout – One of the earliest examples of the Russian Imperial Stout in the United States, Expedition Stout offers immensely complex flavors crafted specifically with vintage aging in mind, as its profile will continue to mature and develop over the years. A huge malt body is matched to a heady blend of chocolate, dark fruits, and other aromas. Intensely bitter in its early months, the flavors will slowly meld and grow in depth as the beer ages. 10.5% ABV / Comstock, MI / RateBeer 100 / Availability: Decent (Arriving Friday)

Bell’s Third Coast Ale – A barley wine with deep amber color, the brandy of ales. This beer has vintage character and will mature in the bottle at cellar temperature for years. 10.2% ABV / Comstock, MI / RateBeer 99 / Availability: Decent (Arriving Friday)

New Belgium Accumulation – Accumulation White IPA was inspired by the white beauty that falls each winter from our Colorado sky. Flurries of Mosaic and Amarillo hops bring soft fruit and citrus flavor, followed by a layer of bitter. 6.2% ABV / Fort Collins, CO / Availability: Good (Arriving Friday)

Celis Juicy IPA – Kissed with citrus forward hops. A hazy IPA that will transport you to a tropical paradise with its accentuated aroma and sensational mouthfeel. Floral and fun, this approachable IPA brings hop lovers a juicy satisfaction as well as helping new-to-IPA fans ease into their hop palate. Each sip will keep you thirsting for more. Pours hazy pale orange with frothy, paper-white head and a thick white lacing throughout. 7% ABV / Austin, TX / Availability: Decent (Arriving Friday)
