How’s your March Madness bracket doing?…Yeah, that’s what we thought. Don’t worry, you can still take part in the WhichCraft March Madness Beer Bracket. Here’s how it will work:

  • Starting Sunday 3/19 we’ll begin posting and tweeting out the day’s matchups and asking for your vote using the hashtag #WhichCraftMadness. Each tweet and reply is a vote. You have until midnight to vote for each matchup.

  • We’ll post the matchups on our Facebook and Twitter pages, you can vote on whichever you prefer.

  • The bracket will progress on the same timeline as the basketball tournament, with new matchups happening almost every day for just over 2 weeks.

  • Reminder: as your favorite beer progresses to the next round, your job isn’t done! Each new round is a new matchup, and no votes from previous rounds carry over.

  • Now, here’s the fun part: you get to make a bracket and pick the winners of each of the games! Go to this link, create a profile, and pick your winners. Points are assigned based on each matchup, with greater points awarded to correct selections later in the tournament. Fill out your bracket by Saturday!

  • The winner of the entire bracket wins a free t-shirt and a $25 WhichCraft Gift Card. 2nd prize wins a t-shirt and a bottle opener. 3rd prize is… you’re fired.

So hurry up and create a bracket! And don’t forget to follow our twitter and facebook pages to vote.

New Beers This Week

(All beer available at both WhichCraft locations unless otherwise noted)

The Bruery White Chocolate – White Oak wheat wine brewed with cocoa nibs and vanilla beans. Placentia, CA / Ratebeer 98 / Availability: Limited

The Bruery Melange #3 – Melange #3 is a blend of three bourbon barrel aged strong ales. White Oak Sap, a wheat wine, their Anniversary Series old ale and their imperial stout, Black Tuesday, join forces in this luxurious strong ale that links some of the best characteristics of each of the contributing beers. Placentia, CA / Ratebeer 100 / Availability: Limited

The Bruery Terreux Tart of Darkness – A perfectly tart yet awesomely dark and roasty, sour stout. This unique stout has notes of tart plums, roasted coffee, vanilla and oak. 7.2% ABV / Anaheim, CA / Ratebeer 98 / Availability: Limited

Funkwerks Luminoso – This sour blonde ale was aged in a variety of barrels and was then blended with the light and refreshing kettle sour, Provincial. The range of barrels and the addition of brettanomyces yeast contribute wild characteristics, while the Provincial adds a bright tartness that keeps you coming back, sip after sip. 5.6% ABV / Fort Collins, CO / Availability: Limited

Funkwerks Dark Prophet – A mahogany saison with flavors of dark fruits and chocolate that was aged in oak bourbon barrels adding warmth to the finish. 9% ABV / Fort Collins, CO / Ratebeer 95 / Availability: Limited

Funkwerks Fruition – A lighter saison variety meant for sessionable drinking. This saison is full of citrus flavors that stem from the chosen hops and from the addition of lemon. A refreshing option to quench your thirst all day long. 6% ABV / Fort Collins, CO / Availability: Decent

Funkwerks Saison D’Brett – Saison and Brettanomyces yeasts add notes of pineapple and earthy spice. 7.4% ABV / Fort Collins, CO / Ratebeer 84 / Availability: Decent

Austin Beerworks Heavy Machinery: Double IPA – This monster of an IPA is loaded with Simcoe, Citra, and Ahtanum hops, giving it huge citrus and pine aromas that pack as much punch as Sam Elliott’s mustache. The beer is light amber in color, and features a strong caramel and Vienna malt backbone to complement those intense hops. 10% ABV / Austin, TX / Ratebeer 98 / Availability: Limited / Limit 8 Cans Per Customer

Stone Enjoy by 4.20.17 IPA – Featured Hops Are Nugget, Super Galena, Simcoe, Delta, Target, Amarillo, Cascade, Galaxy, Citra, Nelson Sauvin, Motueka & Helga. Brewed not to last. 9.4% ABV / Escondido, CA / Ratebeer 100 / Availability: Limited / Mueller Only

Dogfish Head Saison Du Buff – It’s a saison of sorts; hellaciously herbaceous and hopefully contagious. This was not a ready made ale. But it is a ready made collaboration. Meaning Stone and Victory are 2 breweries that are exactly like Dogfish in that they do/brew exactly what they love and they do/brew it exactly like no other brewery out there. 6.8% ABV / Milton, DE / Ratebeer 95 / Availability: Decent / Mueller Only

Mikkeller Spontanframboos – A lambic brewed from: water, malt, wheat, old hops, raspberries and yeast. Aged in oak barrels. 7.7% ABV / Copenhagen, Denmark / Ratebeer 97 / Availability: Limited / Mueller Only

Weekend Specials

Real Ale Pinsetter 6 Packs for $6.99 – Pinsetter Amber Lager was created in the spirit of a uniquely American style, the California Common. Originally produced in an era without the benefits of modern refrigeration, a hybrid style of lager emerged that was fermented at temperatures typically reserved for ale yeasts. The end result was a medium-bodied beer with a lager-clean malt character and a subtle fruitiness derived from its time at these warmer fermentation temperatures. 5.4% ABV / Blanco, TX
