New Beers This Week

Stone’s Farking Wheaton W00t Stout – 2 summers ago Stone Brewing partnered with actor Wil Wheaton and creator of Fark.com Drew Curtis to create the W00t Stout, an imperial stout with rye, wheat & pecans. They upped the ante this year by aging last year’s batch in bourbon barrels for an entire year, then blending a portion of that into this year’s brew. The result is an awesome 13% imperial stout that will cellar well. 13% ABV/Escondido, CA/Ratebeer 99/Availability: decent but will go fast.

Prairie Brett C* – Prairie is back at it with their latest release, the Brett C. It’s a Cascade and Citra hopped farmhouse ale conditioned with brettanomyces and a touch of sea salt. A great farmhouse thirst quencher for the summer months. 8.1% ABV/Tulsa, OK/Beer Advocate 90/Availability: plenty/*Arriving Friday

Urban Family Brett Baby Cakes* – Urban Family out of Seattle is dropping FIVE new beers on us this week. The first is Brett Baby Cakes, a tangerine ale brewed with brettanomyces. 6.45% ABV/Seattle, WA/No ratings yet/Availability: decent/*Arriving Friday

Urban Family Brennan* – A farmhouse ale aged for 8 months in white wine barrels with three different types of brettanomyces and dry hopped with a touch of Amarillo hops. 7% ABV/Seattle, WA/No ratings yet/Availability: decent/*Arriving Friday

Buffalo Bayou Gingerbread Stout* – Buffalo Bayou’s popular Gingerbread Stout is back! Cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove flavors. Just in time for our Christmas in July promo!

Buffalo Bayou Bananas Foster* – Another unique brew from the mad scientists in Houston. A dunkel weisse was the base recipe that was fermented with a yeast strain and at a temperature to accentuate the banana-flavored esters. Cocoa nibs were added to create an ode to the delicious Bananas Foster dessert. 8.6% ABV/Houston, TX/No ratings yet/Availability: decent/*Arriving Friday

Boulevard Heavy Lifting IPA* – Boulevard just starting canning their brand new IPA called Heavy Lifting, based on their popular tap room-only release Mid-Coast IPA. Centennial, Citra, Amarillo, Topaz & Cascade hops for a zesty & piney hop flavor. 6.2% ABV/Kansas City, MO/Ratebeer 90/Availability: decent/*Arriving Friday

Chimay Dorée – Distributed to the US for the first time ever, Chimay’s Dorée is a Belgian patersbier (“father’s beer”), and is what the monks drink as a table beer with their meals. It traditionally didn’t make it outside of the walls of the monastery until recently. Reminiscent of a Belgian witbier with a bit of spice. Comes in 11.2 oz bottles as singles or 4 packs. 4.8% ABV/Baileux, Belgium/Availability: limited

Seguin Lake Breeze Summer Blonde – Seguin Brewing just released their summer seasonal, an easy drinking blonde ale in bombers that pairs well with your trip to the lake. 5.9% ABV/Seguin, TX/No ratings yet/Availability: plenty

Seguin Freedom Fiesta Ale – Brewed and bottled specifically for the annual Freedom Fiesta party that takes over the whole city of Seguin, Brian & Shuan mimicked a Vienna-style lager but instead pitched ale yeast for a slightly fruitier end result. 12 oz 4 packs and singles.

Grapevine Hopfest United IPA – Grapevine’s new year-round IPA HopFest is a delicious and balanced blend of 10 different hops from the major growing regions in the United States, United Kingdom and Germany. 6 packs cans. 6.5% ABV/Grapevine, TX/No ratings yet/Availability: decent

Bayerischer Bahnhof Berliner Weisse – One of the original Berliner Weisses straight from Germany. Slighty tart wheat beer from the same brewery who makes the original Gose. 3% ABV/Leipzig, Germany/Beer Advocate 84/Availability: plenty
