Free In-Store Tastings 6-8pm

Thursday, July 23rd – TONIGHT!

We’ve never had a Lazy Magnolia tasting so we figured we may as well change that by inviting Dave from the brewery to the tasting bar to sample out their 10th anniversary quad with pecans, Lazy Saison, Southern Hopspitality IPA and Southern Pecan brown ale.

Wednesday, July 29th

The man, the beard, the legend Myk O’Connor is coming back to the tasting bar to dish out free samples of a few favorite year-round offerings from Founders Brewing: All Day IPA and Dirty Bastard in addition to a couple seasonal favorites too: Rubaeus and one other fancy one.

Thursday, July 30th

New South Austin rep Carolyn will be in the house with samples off all the South Austin canned beers: Kol’, Luckenbock, Crossroads Coffee Stout, Texas Pale Ale & 6 String Saison.

New Beers This Week

Back in stock: Naughty Brewing Kentucky Streetwalker, Stone Farking Wheaton W00t Stout, Stone Bourbon Barrel Arrogant Bastard, Oasis Meta Modern Session IPA, Community Mosaic IPA, Community Witbier, Upslope Thai White IPA.

Nebraska Ninja Gnome* – Nebraska Brewing Company has a pretty superb barrel program and the Ninja Gnome is certainly going to be interesting. It’s an imperial amber ale brewed with cinnamon, nutmeg and clove and then aged in South American rum barrels. 10.6% ABV/Papillion, NE/No ratings yet/Availability: limited/*Arriving Friday

Nebraska Barrel Aged Hop Anomaly* – For this barrel aged beauty the Nebraska crew took their Belgian-style IPA and aged it for 6 months in French chardonnay barrels. 10.6% ABV/Papillion, NE/No ratings yet/Availability: limited/*Arriving Friday

Texian Summer Sandia* – All I can find online about this beer is that it is a watermelon wheat beer packaged in bombers. Sounds refreshing! 5.3% ABV/Richmond, TX/No ratings yet/Availability: limited/*Arriving Friday

Texian Charlie Foxtrot* – Back by popular demand, Texian’s Charlie Foxtrot is an imperial Berliner Weisse, which is basically just a higher ABV version of the style with a good amount of tartness. 7.5% ABV/Richmond, TX/Ratebeer 90/Availability: decent/*Arriving Friday

No Label Suburban Funk Cherry Sour* – Another beer I can’t find a ton of info online for, this is the latest in the No Label “Off Label” series. It’s a cherry wheat beer with some tartness as well. 6.87% ABV/Katy, TX/No ratings yet/Availability: decent/*Arriving Friday

Victory Saison du BUFF – A 3-way collaboration between Victory, Dogfish Head & Stone Brewing, this saison was originally brewed at each brewery back in 2010. BUFF stands for Brewers United for the Freedom of Flavor. It’s a saison brewed with parsley, lemon thyme, sage & rosemary. Refreshing! 6.8% ABV/Downington, PA/Ratebeer 91/Availability: decent

Stone Enjoy After 7-4-16 – Stone’s popular Enjoy By series gets a visit from Brettanomyces yeast to create their Enjoy After series. Spiked with brett in the bottle, this beer will continue to evolve and become more tart & funky with time. They recommend cellaring this beer for a year for the brett to really do its thing. 7% ABV/Escondido, CA/No ratings yet/Availability: very limited

New Belgium Long Table Farmhouse Ale – New Belgium’s summer/fall seasonal is a farmhouse ale in the Belgian & French tradition. They use a traditional saison yeast strain and pinch of rye for a bit of spiciness. A bit more aggressively hopped than a traditional saison. 6.2% ABV/Fort Collins, CO/Beer Advocate 87/Availability: limited

La Socarrada – Another beer from the brewery who brought you Er Boqueron, a beer made with Mediterranean sea salt, this on is a blonde/golden ale brewed with rosemary & honey. Comes in both 330mL and 750mL bottles. 6% ABV/Valencia, Spain/Beer Advocate 84/Availability: decent

Meridian Hive Huajilla Mead – A traditional mead using mild Huajilla honey originating from southwest Texas. Hints of citrus, apple and spice with a soft and clean finish. 13.2% ABV/Austin, TX/No ratings yet/Availability: plenty

Lazy Magnolia 10 – A 10th anniversary beer from Lazy Magnolia in Mississippi! Very limited release and we’re lucky to get a single case. They drew inspiration from their Southern Pecan brown ale brewed with pecans and added pecans to their Belgian Quad recipe for a rich & decadent birthday beer. 10% ABV/Kiln, MS/No ratings yet/Availability: limited
