Schramm’s Black Agnes Mead– Our sweet black currant mead, Black Agnes, is named after one boisterous Scottish wench who successfully defended the Scottish Castle of Dunbar during a five-month siege by William Montague, the Earl of Salisbury. While relatively unknown in the United States, black currants have been grown in the British Isles for more than five hundred years, and used by herbalists since the Middle Ages. Sharply tart and acidic, the potent flavors of the fruit are perfectly balanced by the sweetness of premium honey to create a particularly unique, memorable and delicious mead. 14% ABV

Held in balance with with a classic firm Pilsner bitterness and a crystalline, snappy finish, Pylon is a loving addition to the noble Pils tradition. 5% ABV

Strata’s like the person that made a big entrance at the party and now everyone wants to hang out with them. And now’s your chance to hang out with our new favorite hop. So pour this beauty into your favorite glass and spend some time getting to know all that we love about Strata. Cheers! 7.2%ABV

El Segundo Radioactive Fallout– After our brewers blasted Power Plant and Nuclear Power Plant with hops, they hung around a little too long, breathing the residual “radioactive material” that had propelled into our brewhouse and decided to make a hazy…aptly named Radioactive Fallout. Brewed with Galaxy, Nelson and Centennial. 6.5% ABV

Equilibrium dS/dt– dS/dt is the most technologically advanced DIPA we’ve made to date at any location. At Henry Street, introducing Mass Fluxes into a Control Volume leads to a change in concentration over a change in time or dC/dt, which allows for the construction of a predictive juice model. The gold line on the label is the actual calibrated mathematical model of the EQ juice compared to data in “Relative Yuminess Units” provided by the expert palates of Ryan and OG Kyle. We took the EQ Juice model derived from dC/dt and extrapolated it to produce more EQ Juice using new South Street hardware to bring you dS/dt. The only ingredients in this beer are pale malt and Citra. This DIPA underwent our fractal fermentation and received large doses of Citra hops in this new process.

dS/dt pours a hazy straw yellow and has aromas of freshly squeezed OJ, rainbow melon, lime, grapefruit, and a tropical character that gives you a vacation in a glass. The flavor is bright tropical orange juice, mango smoothie, dank grass, with a gummy resinous character of our rainbow melon that dances on the pallet, all balanced by a rounded bitterness to keep it refreshing sip-after-sip. 8%ABV

Equilibrium Fluctuation DDH DIPA– Fluctuations from the sun hurl particles of plasma towards earth and create the dramatic display known as the Aurora Borealis. Fluctuation is our 8.1 % DIPA that releases bright tropical notes of passion fruit, mango, pineapple, and lychee with an undercurrent of sorbet and cream. Fluctuation tastes highly resinous and tropical with an assertive yet soft bitterness and our #EQjuice finish. Fluctuation features the Aurora Borealis, illustrated by local artist, Julia Green. 8.1% ABV

Jester King Vague Recollection– Our latest batch of Vague Recollection is now available! Inspired by the winemaking tradition of piquette, Vague Recollection is a farmhouse ale aged on the grape pomace from the 2021 harvest.

2021 was our second season of winemaking. We worked with Blanc du Bois, Syrah, Merlot, and Black Spanish grapes. After pressing the skins, we racked young farmhouse ale onto the pomace. After a few months of aging, we racked the beer off of the pomace and naturally conditioned the beer. The result is an elegant, complex, nuanced flavor profile that captures elements from both beer and wine. While by no means a fruit bomb, this batch is very drinkable and delicious. We’re quite excited to release it. 6.8% abv.

Deep Ellum Cadillac Bandito– Cadillac Bandito is all dressed up to defend his title as the ultimate champ of craft cervezas in Texas! Get ready for some serious action as we witness his trademark smashing sweetness rounded out with salty punch-kicks,and a finishing body slam of tartness. 6% ABV

Lone River Ranch Rita– Our Classic Ranch Rita is a margarita style beverage made with agave nectar and a taste of lime. 6% ABV

Stone Green Tea IPA– First brewed in 2011, this IPA is something truly magnificent, unique and well worth brewing again. The recipe was a collaboration with our friends Toshi Ishii (whose first brewing job was at Stone for many years, before going on to become one of Japan’s most celebrated craft brewers), and Brian Baird (who founded Japan’s Baird Brewing). Whole leaf green tea adds a gentle accent to the blend of northern and southern hemisphere hops in this recipe, and our fans have been asking (some demanding) for its bright herbaceousness to make a return for years. To have such an innovative creation be so fervently enjoyed by nearly everyone who tries it – there’s nothing better. When the time inevitably comes to ask us for another release, just say “Mou ippai!” (I’ll have another!) 10.1%

Blue Owl Stellar Haze– It’s 2022, welcome to the Space Odyssey of Stellar Haze!

This double dry-hopped solar system is brewed using Centennial, Azacca, Citra, El Dorado, and (The Fifth Element) Galaxy hops. At 4lbs/barrel of hops, it’s so dense with flavor it has its own Gravity.
Walk through the Gardens of the Galaxy and find Serenity as these hops collide bringing notes of pineapple, mango, and citrus, creating an inescapable Event Horizon of tropical flavor.

With a touch of sour and solar flair, Stellar Haze is bright, hoppy, and complex, ready to take you Ad Astra and into the juicy Abyss of this sour hazy double IPA. May The Sour Be With You.

FLAVOR PROFILE: Bright and hoppy with tropical citrus notes from Centennial, Azacca, Citra, El Dorado, and Galaxy hops. 8.1% ABv

Boulder Beer Irish Blessing– Irish Blessing is a dark Stout brewed with an abundance of black and chocolate malts for a bittersweet chocolate finish. We collaborated with our friends and local roasters at OZO Coffee in Boulder to determine the perfect roast to complement our stout, choosing their OZO Blend to use in the brew adding earthy, roasted coffee flavors to the beer. We then age Irish Blessing on Jameson Irish Whiskey soaked in oak, imparting the finishing touches of whiskey and wood. 6.8% ABV

The Bruery Banana Nut Muffin– Bite into this bold imperial stout and experience a fresh-outta-the-oven banana nut muffin in your glass. Ruekeller: Dunkel is a dark lager that’s lightly sweet with notes of mild caramel, chocolate, and a satisfying nuttiness. 6.2% ABV

Drie Fonteinen Aardbei– This Aardbei has shortly macerated on a stainless steel tank and then matured on a foeder for another two months. We used strawberries from Ferme Framboos that were hand-picked in the summer of 2020. We used a single jonge lambik, and we did not blend with any other lambik afterwards. The final fruit intensity amounts up to 623 grams of strawberries per litre of Aardbei. 5.7% ABV

Drie Fonteinen Geturfd B62– Sherry barrel Geuze. In the spring of 2019, we received a series of very old Oloroso, PX and Amontillado barrels through a local Jerez cooperage. The aromas were a mix of typical fine sherry notes and toasted, peated characteristics, which we have never experienced before. However, after a year of bottle conditioning – because of the higher peated aromas, albeit balanced – we decided to release this bottle not as a Zenne y Frontera, but as a peated geuze. This blend, like blend 61, comes mostly from Oloroso barrels. The weighted average age of this blend, upon its release, is almost three years old. The oldest lambik was brewed in April 2018. 7.8%

Drie Fonteinen Kriekenlambik– This is not “any” Oude Kriek, this is Zéér Oude Kriekenlambik. Instead of using one- and two-year old lambik for maceration and blending, this time we used 36% three-year old lambik (yes, like in more than thirty-six months) and 58% two-year old lambik.

The lambikken come from twelve different barrels and eleven different brews. This blend consists of 60% 3 Fonteinen lambik. The final fruit is at 340 grams of sour cherries per litre of this Oude Kriek. 6.6% ABV

Equilibrium Strata Point– A Strata Point takes our Data Points grain bill and replaces ALL of the hops with our hand selected Strata. Pouring vivid yellow in color, aromas of OJ and dank special lettuce lead into dank flavors of passionfruit juice, ruby red grapefruit, Frankenberry cereal, melon, and complex concord grape and strawberry. The cornucopia of fruity flavors build up into a dank and creamy finish loaded with our rainbow melon #EQjuice profile. 6.5% ABV

Fair State Heated Agreement– Heated Agreement is a thing that happens to all of us – you find yourself in what feels like an argument, but you’re actually just agreeing with someone over and over, at an elevated volume. This DIPA is the liquid equivalent of that. Fermented with an insane yeast that produces abundant tropical aromas, and hopped to the gills with our Perrault Farms Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, and some choice Idaho 7. Think freshly bottled Sprite mixed with some funky tropical chewing gum, overlaid with a waft of dankness.

TASTING NOTES- Freshly bottled sprite, tropical sugar free chewing gum, dank, lightly sweet. 8.4& ABV

8.4& ABV

5×5 Brewing Fubarr Red Ale– FUBAR is a military acronym which describes a situation: Fouled Up Beyond All Recognition. Our FUBAR Red (hence the extra “R”) embraces the spirit of all things gone wrong, except everything went right with this beer!

It is a solid Irish Red, lightly malty, with pronounced caramel, burnt sugar, raisin and prune notes. It is not too bitter, with the perfect amount of carbonation. 5.24% ABV

5×5 Brewing Brunette Bombshell Brown Ale– Brunettes are seen to be the most easy going, girl next door, approachable types, but with a wild side. Our Brunette Bombshell embodies this with its smooth honey sweet notes mixed with slight hints of chocolate and caramel/toffee flavors and toasted bread. There is also a bite to it at the end with aromas of blueberry, rose blossoms and citrus. 8.68% ABV

NOLA Must Have Been the Wrong Time– IPA w/ Azacca & Citra Hops. 7% ABV

Southern Star Bombshell Wit– Wit style beer. 5.4% ABV

Notes of succulent orange, floral bouquet and zesty lemon radiate throughout the aroma and taste. Light bitterness is shaded by those lush hop flavors and a rounded mouthfeel. Available in 12oz 4packs and comes in at 7.5% ABV.

903 Wine infused Oak Aged Stout– We gave Sasquatch’s Vineyard an imperial stout foundation with chocolate and roasted malts, lending notes of cocoa nibs, dried fruit, and dark bread to the base. Additions of Cabernet Sauvignon grape must impart the beer with sublime wine notes of cherry, earth, dark fruit acidity, and cassis. 10.5 ABV

B-52 Fruit Tart– Sour Ale with raspberry, plum and sage. 5.9 ABV

B-52 Hope You Like Vic Secret– Double Dry Hopped with a scandalous amount of Vic Secret hops for a luxurious aroma and flavor of pineapple and passionfruit with delicate herbal undertones. ABV 8.2

New Wines This Week

(On-Premise Consumption or Off-Premise To Go)

D. Bosler Birdsnest Pinot Noir 2019– A classic expression of Pinot Noir from Chile. The nose is full of lush raspberries and floral notes. On the palate the fruit shines through with hints of spice giving the wine outstanding structure well beyond its price range – Winery Pablo Morandé is one of the fathers of winemaking in Chile. His influence has transformed the plantings in the Maipo Valley to be revered and respected around the world. Pablo is rooted in the history of Chilean wine production: being one of the leaders of the team making wines at Concha y Toro, a very well-known Chilean vineyard, and responsible for the release of the critically acclaimed Concha y Toro Melchor (a wine may credit as the benchmark release for Chilean wines around the world).13,5%ABV

Populis Rose Mendocino County 2021– The Carignan and Zinfandel comes from the Venturi Vineyard and Hawk Eye Ranch in Mendocino with a small addition (7%) of extended maceration Moscato and Colombard included to make the fruit aromas pop out of the glass.  Watermelon, hibiscus, papaya and red cherry are fresh and crisp.  Soft and round with an extended finish of juicy acidity.  Only 100 cases produced. 12,5%ABV

Les Lunes Astral Blend 2021–  This wine is crazy. A wacky and delicious blend of Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Chardonnay, Syrah and Gamay.  A portion of the grapes undergo carbonic maceration to give the wine a fresh, juicy, floral aroma.  Darker fruits come across on the palate providing some weight, while the freshness of the low sulphured grapes are crisp and tart.  As the winery says, “Light and ethereal, this red wine is meant to be served chilled and to refresh.” 12,5%ABV

Rio Maggio Rosso Piceno 2017– Founded in 1976, Rio Maggio is located in the town of Montegranaro in the heart of the Ascoli Piceno area of the Marche. The winery has been in production for almost 30 years under the direction of, first Graziano, the father, and now Simone, the son.

Located only 15km from the sea, the vineyards that were planted with international varieties in 1990 face northwest, while the vineyards that are dedicated to Rosso Piceno and Falerio dei Colli Ascolani DOC wines face southeast.  The soil here is rich in silicon and limestone, and the family’s oldest vineyard, Contrada Vallone, was planted 35 years ago.

By hand-harvesting their grapes, using natural products in the vineyard and a limited use of sulphites in the cellar, Rio Maggio produces about 100,000 bottles a year. Working meticulously in the vineyard and the winery, Simone and his wife, Tiziana, have constantly improved the quality of their wines.

Rosso Piceno is the most popular red wine from Le Marche. Rio Maggio gives us a unique and excellent version with Rio. A red wine that charms with its intense ruby color and enchants with its floral, fruity and spicy notes. Fresh to the palate, Rio is perfect with red and white meats, but also with fish thanks to its elegance.

Monte Bernardi Italia Ti Adoro– Size: 1 Liter Grape variety: Blend of mostly Sangiovese with a bit of Malvasia Nera, Canaiolo, Frappato, and Nero D’Avola Producer: Michael Schmelzer Region: Right in the heart of Chianti Classico in Tuscany, Italy Farming method: Organic/Biodynamic Tasting notes:  Blackberry and raspberry pie like notes on your palate with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. It’s also a liter bottle, so more Amore for everyone!

Pierre Olivier Bonhomme Sauvignon 2020– Pierre-Olivier has made a simply delicious (and just a bit peculiar) Touraine Sauvignon Blanc. The wine shows a pale bronze color with aromas of ripe pear, lime flower, gingerbread and honeysuckle. Dry but with lovely ripe pear and apple on the palate framed in firm acidity, with stone, saline mineral flavors. It’s both crisp, but also round and tropical, with almost an oxidative touch. All in all, there’s a lot of character in this inexpensive wine – enjoy by itself or with any fish, chicken or white meat dish, great with goat cheeses and Asian foods as well. 13%ABV

Pierre Olivier Bonhomme Le Telquel Gamay 2020– Domaine Pierre-Olivier Bonhomme is the continuation and evolution of the now defunct Puzelat-Bonhomme négociant project. In the 90’s, Clos du Tue-Boeuf was faced with many years of tiny crops caused by late frost, mildew, hail or general bad weather. Revenues were tight, and Thierry Puzelat, the younger of the two brothers running the estate, wanted to expand the estate by renting or buying more vineyards. His brother Jean-Marie, in his late forties at the time, did not want to add more vineyard and cellar work to his already heavy schedule. So Thierry started a négociant business, set up a winery in the village of Monthou-sur-Bièvre and sourced excellent vineyards and vine-tenders to buy their grapes.

Thierry being a busy and ambitious man, he soon found himself opening a wine bar in Orléans and a wine import company (you have him him to thank for the scarcity of Mauro Vergano’s tasty elixirs!) The négoce project had gotten bigger than he’d anticipated; he needed a partner. He quickly found this in Pierre-Olivier Bonhomme, a young high school drop-out who had helped work a few seasons at Tue-Boeuf. Pierre-O, young and motivated, became a partner in his early 20’s. The company was re-named Puzelat-Bonhomme.

In anticipation of Jean-Marie’s retirement from Clos du Tue-Boeuf, Thierry knew the day would come where he would have to re-shift his focus back to his family estate. A plan was then hatched to have Pierre-O continue the négociant operation under his own name. The switch officially happened with the 2013 vintage, but Pierre-O has vinified the entirety of the production since 2011.

Rather than start from scratch with new labels and cuvées, Pierre-O has continued making the wines that put Puzelat-Bonhomme on the map: Touraine Sauvignon, La Tesnière Blanc and Rouge, In KO We Trust and of course the infamous and ever-popular Telquel. Over the last few years, Pierre-O has also been able to purchase some vines with which he produces, amongst others an old vine Sauvignon and a Cheverny Rouge

VdF “Le Telquel”:
Soil: Flint from the Vallée du Cher.
Grapes: Gamay with a touch of Grolleau and occasionally Pineau D’Aunis.
Vinification: Aged in wooden tanks and bottled in the spring.

Lorenza California Rosé 2021– The 2021 harvest offered beautiful small clusters and lower yields in a drought year. The reward? A rosé with intense focus, concentration and compelling aromatics. A dream of a vintage.

Each harvest we look for the theme. For us, it’s not enough to deliver a great glass of wine; we look more deeply to set an intention for each vintage of Lorenza. 2021 was a year of connectivity, to each other, to the land and to our wonderful community. We feel so grateful for this way of life where we get to share something so beautiful with our friends.

WINEMAKING

Again Mourvèdre holds the majority of the blend with solid supporting roles from juicy Carignan, focused Cinsaut and aromatic Grenache. Our priority during picking and pressing is to handle the fruit as gently as possible. This gives us purity of flavors and the pale luminescence that is so pleasing to our eye. Each variety is fermented until dry and held in stainless until bottling which occurred on December 8 and 9, 2021.

VINEYARDS

We continue to widen the circle of committed sustainable farming. We are grateful to our growers. All but a tiny fraction of the grapes for this vintage are grown in the Lodi, AVA. Although we have been making wine in the area for over a decade, our label bears the appellation for the first time.

TASTING NOTES

The 2021 is a knockout. Perfect translucent pink, with a compelling fragrance of orange blossoms and the tropics. Silky texture with the juicy sweet tart palate of honey tangerine, passion fruit and rhubarb. Wonderful crisp grapefruit finish.

Caruso e Minini Frappato & Nerello Mascalese 2019– Nerello Mascalese is a variety famous from the slopes of eastern Sicily’s volcano, Mt. Etna, where it makes some of Italy’s most respected and sought-after reds. It contributes a significant perfume of darker red fruits (like dark cherry or boysenberry/mulberry) and allspice (or cinnamon, clove, & nutmeg), along with a touch of dried herb, and an embracing texture of tannin and a ‘crushed rock’ minerality. Frappato, on the other hand, is most commonly grown on the southeastern tip of Sicily. It brings a lighter body and very light tannin, with flavors like cool strawberry and tangy raspberry, subtle baking spice, and gentle white pepper. Those differences complement each other, making this an everyday wine that’s definitely not ordinary! 13,5%ABV

That’s why we’re still taking inspiration from the historic methods we used when we started making cider back in 1935. That’s part of the Magners taste. We take time to ferment the cider and even more time to let it mature, up to 2 years in fact, tasting it along the way. 4.5% ABV
