Lamar WhichCraft News and Weekend Events

Folks, we hate to lead with bad news, but there’s no easy way to sugar coat it: after 4.5 years of being your go-to bottle shop, WhichCraft at South Lamar will be closing its doors on Saturday, September 22. The location at Mueller will still be open, but the bottle shop we have grown over this time while creating and fostering so many relationships with customers and breweries will be coming to an end. This isn’t a decision that’s easy to make, but has been dwelled over for some time. But again, the Mueller location will still be around, and in the time before we close Lamar, we need to sell some beer. Lots of beer. So starting today, take 10% off everything in the store. Help us make our final inventory that much easier by cleaning us out. And to everyone who has visited us and continue to make us your one-stop bottle shop, thank you. We never could have made it this far without your continued support.

But hey, that’s still a month away. This weekend, don’t miss some great events we have lined up. Friday at Lamar, sample some goodies from 5 Stones before they get gone, and at Mueller, we have a Founders Pint Night with their Porter and Mosaic Promise.

And of course, keep picking up 6 packs of said Brewery of the Month. All month long, we’ll be offering their Mama Tried IPA, Willin’ Mosaic Pale, 7 Spanish Angels, and Two-Step Pils for…$5.99. Holy cow!

Tupps Peach Apricot Wheat – American wheat ale brewed with peaches and apricots. 5.5% ABV / McKinney, TX / Availability: Good

4th Tap House of Torment – A delicious beer inspired by the season as well as terrified hallways jam-packed with monsters. Brewed with 240 pounds of fresh roasted pumpkin. 5% ABV / Austin, TX / Availability: Good / SoLa Only

Trois Dames Brett Saison – A saison fermented w/ Brettanomyces Lambicus & Brettanomyces Bruxellensis yeasts. 6% ABV / Sainte-Croix, Switzerland / RateBeer 92 / Availability: Decent / Mueller Only (Arriving Friday)

Trois Dames Oud Bruin – A sour brown ale, brewed in the Flemish tradition, that rivals even the best Oud Bruins coming out of Belgium. Elegant and rustic, and full of complex flavors, berries, spice, and a hint of nuttiness, this is a great beer to share with friends on a special occasion. 7% ABV / Sainte-Croix, Switzerland / RateBeer 96 / Availability: Decent / Mueller Only (Arriving Friday)

Trois Dames L’Amoureuse Blanche – Born of a combination of dry saison and the freshly-squeezed juice of local grapes, blended and fermented together. The result is a relatively dry beer with a light, fruity, vinous nose. Unfiltered, unpasteurized and refermented in the bottle, L’Amoureuse will continue to evolve and grow more acidic over time, thanks to the wild yeasts that occur naturally on the grape skin. 8% ABV / Sainte-Croix, Switzerland / Availability: Decent / Mueller Only (Arriving Friday)

Jester King Vulgar Affectation – A nearly one year old farmhouse ale brewed with native lemon beebalm and horehound growing in the fields surrounding our brewery. 5% ABV / Austin, TX / Availability: Decent / Mueller Only (Arriving Friday)

Jester King Deimos Companion – Ale brewed with papalo and refermented with lime juice and zest. This beer is part of a collaboration with their friends and neighbors, Revolution Spirits, who distilled Phobos’ Companion – a spirit intended to be blended with Deimos’ Companion to create a beer cocktail. Both the beer and the spirit are meant to stand on their own but when combined together, create an enhanced experience inspired by a michelada. 6.7% ABV / Austin, TX / Availability: Limited / Mueller Only (Arriving Friday)
