One Last Bottle Share for Old Time’s Sake

This Saturday, we welcome in a brand spankin’ new brewery, Lake Austin Ales, to showcase a pair of their beers. Don’t miss your chance to try their Juicy IPA and IIPA from 4-7. Or heck, try them today, they’re on tap now. NOW!

Speaking of now, September is now. And we have a Brewery of the Month for September: Tupps! At our Mueller location, we’ll be offering their IPA, Citra Pale Ale, and American Wheat for $5.99. All September! Which is now!

Finally, we’re in the twilight period at Lamar. Both the beers and shelves are disappearing, but there’s still a chance to score some sweet bottles at 30% off. And remember, we’re having a final blowout event on Saturday, September 15. Come visit us between 1-6pm for a bottle share and a Saint Arnold tasting from 2-4pm. Bring in some of those special bottles from home you’d like to show off, sample some beers from the oldest craft brewery in Texas, and share some memories. Gonna be a good, good time.

New Beers This Week at Mueller

(All beer available at both WhichCraft locations unless otherwise noted)

Tupps Full Grown Jack – Pumpkin spiced imperial stout. 12.1% ABV / McKinney, TX / Availability: Decent

Avery Kaiser (12oz Can) – All that is good in a traditional Oktoberfest – gorgeous, deep copper sheen, massive malty backbone and spicy, floral, pungent noble hops – then intensified each into this, an Imperial Oktoberfest. 9.5% ABV / Boulder, CO / RateBeer 93 / Availability: Decent

Avery Maharaja (12oz Can) – Much like its namesake, this imperial IPA is regal, intense and mighty. With hops and malts as his servants, he rules both with a heavy hand. The Maharaja flaunts his authority over a deranged amount of hops: tangy, vibrant and pungent along with an insane amount of malted barley – fashioning a dark amber hue and exquisite malt essence. 10.2% ABV / Boulder, CO / RateBeer 99 / Availability: Limited

Sierra Nevada Narwhal – This malt-forward monster is bold – with notes of baker’s cocoa, molasses, and dark roasted coffee. This massive imperial stout is incredibly complex, rich, and intense and will develop in the bottle for years to come. 10.2% ABV / Chico, CA / RateBeer 99 / Availability: Decent

Odell Jolly Russian – Bridging the Baltic and Caribbean Seas, Jolly Russian is a rich Russian Imperial Stout stowed away in Rum Barrels for aging. Dark as night and thick as the raging sea, this brew boasts notes of coffee and cocoa with waves of oak, spiced molasses, dried fruit and vanilla from the planks. 13.3% ABV / Fort Collins, CO / RateBeer 99 / Availability: Decent

Odell Double Pilsner – Their tribute to the pilsner style, heavily hopped but balanced with malt and refined on their 5-barrel system. 8.1% ABV / Fort Collins, CO / Availability: Good

The Bruery/Jester King Imperial Cabinet – This collaboration between the two breweries produced a beer reminiscent of a nearly-forgotten, early 20th-century cocktail, the Ramos gin fizz, employing our wildly traditional methods to do so. They began with some of the cocktail’s signature ingredients: lemon, lime and orange citrus fruits, botanicals, and sweeteners (sorry, no egg whites), and then let their collaborative brewing process run wild. The result is laden with herbal and floral notes, bright lemon and lime zest, orange blossom honey, vanilla, warm oak, and comforting spices. 8.3% ABV / Placentia, CA / Availability: Limited

The Bruery Or Xata (16oz Cans) – Blonde Ale with rice, cinnamon, vanilla bean. Their take on the traditional agua fresca incorporates rice and lactose along with spices for that sweet, creamy character that we’ve come to love. 7.1% ABV / Placentia, CA / Availability: Good

The Bruery Mischief (16oz Cans) – Mischief is a hoppy Belgian-style golden strong ale. This wickedly good golden ale is fiendishly dry-hopped with American hops to add a layer of complexity and mystery to its fruity, dry Belgian-style character. Citrus and resin diabolically combine with ripe melon, pear and slight peppery spice in a precariously effervescent mixture. 8.5% ABV / Placentia, CA / Availability: Good

Austin Beerworks Heavy Machinery Wet Hop IPA Easily, the most special brew in the series because this can only happen once a year. Last year it was a Thursday. On the day their farmer in Oregon harvests the Centennial hops, they start brewing. He boxes them up, kisses the label, and ships them via Southwest Airlines Cargo (faster than FedEx). So within 12 hours of being picked it’s dropped into the kettle. That’s a wet hop. It’s the greenest, brightest, extra-juiciest flavor that you can’t duplicate any other way. The sooner you drink it, the fresher the flavor. Don’t cherish this one – drink up! 7% ABV / Austin, TX / RateBeer 92 / Availability: Limited

5 Stones Wak It to Me – IPA made with New Zealand Wakitu hops and fresh squeezed limes. 6.7% ABV / New Braunfels, TX / Availability: Decent

5 Stones Reserva Pina – Aloha Pina conditioned on tequila soaked oak chips for 45 days. 9.2% ABV / New Braunfels, TX / Availability: Decent

5 Stones Norma Jeane – Their blonde ale conditioned on fresh cut strawberries and vanilla beans. 6.8% ABV / New Braunfels, TX / Availability: Decent

New Beers on Draft at WhichCraft Taproom

Full Draft List Available on our Website

St. Elmo Carl – A Pale Golden Beer – Full-flavored yet very drinkable. Perfectly refreshing for the 8-month Texas summer. German Pilsner malt, Tettnanger hops, and clean Kolsch yeast come together in graceful harmony to make the perfect everyday beer. Come hang with Carl! 4.6% ABV / Austin. TX

Live Oak Oaktoberfest – Carefully brewed in observance with Bavarian-style and tradition. Emphasizing rich flavor produced by the finest German malts, Oaktoberfest balances malty fullness with the subtle clean bitterness of Noble hops. 5.8% ABV / Austin, TX

Lake Austin Juicy IPA – Double dry-hopped with more than 250 lbs. of tropical hop blends. 6.5% ABV / Austin, TX

Lake Austin Juicy DIPA – A total of 350 lbs. of citrusy hops and lupulin powder. This one is less tropical, according to the brewery; instead, the beer bursts with notes of grapefruit and Meyer lemon. 7.5% ABV / Austin, TX

Red Horn Wonder Boy – It’s wondeous, the delicate and delicious balance of spicy and fruity esters in Wonder Boy Hefeweizen. This smooth, rich yet refreshing ale is our Texas twist on a favorite style. Soft white wheat, bready Munich malt, and German pilsner malts build the backbone, American Cascade hops add a unique yet subtle citrusy note, but our unique yeast blend does the heavy lifting. Prosit! 5% ABV / Austin, TX

13.3% ABV / Fort Collins, CO / RateBeer 99
