Fall Hard Off the Wagon with a Temptress

New Year’s resolutions, you had a good week. But unfortunately, we have a trio of weekend events you’re gonna want to check out. First, tonight (Thursday 1/10) from 5-8, we welcome in Frank with Saint Arnold, as we’ll have their French Press and Daydream on tap, along with package samples of White Noise and Bishop’s Barrel 22. Then on Friday the 11th, don’t miss Lakewood as we celebrate their 2018 Bourbon Barrel Temptress on tap. We’ll also have their All Call Kolsch on tap and selling bottles of the 2018 BBT (Limit 1). Finally, on Saturday the 12th, we round out the trio of events with our January Brewery of the Month, Real Ale. We’ll have their Moonwalk Brut IPA on tap, and be sampling their canned beers.

Speaking of which, choose from a quartet of Real Ale 6 packs for our BotM sale. All month long, Hans’ Pils, Fireman’s 4, Axis IPA, and Devil’s Backbone are $6.99.

Finally, it’s time to get classy. And gourmet. Don’t miss our fancy cheese and mead pairing at 7:00 on Monday, 1/14, with Meridian Hive. For $25, show up and get four pours of their tasty mead, along with four different cheeses (and crackers) to create some culinary combos. Tickets can be found here.

Avery The Reverend – This beer is strong willed, assertive, and pure of heart, a heart of candy sugar. It contains as many authentic imported Belgian specialty malts as the brewers could cram into their mash tun, and lots of Belgian dark candy sugar stirred into the brew kettle. A divinely complex and beautifully layered beer with hints of dark cherries, currants, and molasses, complimented by an underlying spiciness. Sinfully smooth, considering the high alcohol content. 10% ABV / Boulder, CO / RateBeer 89 / Availability: Decent

Sierra Nevada Resilience IPA – Resilience Butte County Proud IPA, a fundraiser beer for Camp Fire relief. They committed to brewing the beer and donating 100% of the sales to the Sierra Nevada Camp Fire Relief Fund, aimed at long-term community rebuilding support. Blue Owl Dapper Devil – Sour Raspberry Belgian Strong Ale. It’s classy and sophisticated with a just a hint of sinister. 8.5% ABV / Austin, TX

Hear that? It’s an all call to craft beer. 5.2% ABV / Garland, TX

Lakewood 2018 BBT – Everything you love about their Imperial Milk Stout, but boozier and nicely-aged. One could go so far as saying Bourbon Barrel Temptress is the “cougar” of milk stouts. Hints of vanilla, oak, toffee, caramel, and roasted coffee intertwine for a boozy, dangerously smooth treat. Take your time with her and she’ll reward you. 11.3% ABV / Garland, TX / RateBeer 98

Hops & Grain Lactose Porter – In comparison to their Porter Culture, with Lactose Porter they changed the malt bill, removed a few other ingredients and introduced lactose during the brewing process. Provides similar flavor notes of coffee, chocolate, raisin and a deeper finish of tobacco – with a rounded out velvety-smoothness thanks to the Lactose! 6.7% ABV / Austin, TX

Martin House Broken Wing – Easy drinking Czech style Pils. Light body, balanced, smooth finish. 4.2% ABV / Fort Worth, TX
